On March 4, the donation ceremony for the emergency aids provided by the Chinese government to the Mongolian government for duzd was held at the State Palace of Mongolia. On behalf of the Chinese government, Ambassador Shen Minjuan handed over USD 200,000 emergency cash assistance to the Mongolian government, and RMB 1.24 million aids in cash and kind by the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to the Mongolian Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene.

On behalf of the Mongolian government, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene extended sincere appreciation to the Chinese government. Oyun-Erdene said that a proverb in Mongolia goes " Neighbors are connected at heart and share a common destiny." When Mongolia is hit by dzud and herders face huge difficulties, China took the lead in extending a helping hand as the permanent neighboring country of Mongolia, standing once again as a model of good neighbor. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region also provided us with warm support. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties and is also the Year of Dragon of the traditional calendar of the two countries. Dragon represents good luck and strength. I hope the two countries and the bilateral relations will enjoy leapfrog development and the two peoples will enjoy happiness and prosperity.

Ambassador Shen said that the severe cold wave and snowstorms in Mongolia are unprecedented in 50 years. China shares the feelings and concern with Mongolia. The Chinese Embassy and Chinese enterprises in Mongolia have taken part in the donation and rescue. I sincerely ask Prime Minister Oyun-Erden to convey the cordial greetings and sincere sympathy of the Chinese government and people to the people in the disaster-hit area. I believe that with the joint efforts of all sectors of society, Mongolia will overcome the disaster. China is ready to provide more support and assistance to Mongolia.

China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors that share mountains and rivers. We have always helped each other in the face of disasters. During COVID-19, the exchange of sheep and tea has become a well-told story. The emergency assistance provided by the Chinese government to the Mongolian government is not only a vivid interpretation of the Mongolian proverb, but also another concrete demonstration of China's concept of a community with a shared future and the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness. China is willing to join hands with Mongolia to share weal and woe, seek cooperation and development to bring greater benefits to the two peoples.
